UPDATE: Keep the Donations Coming!
The A-C Central Middle School math class has received several donations on DonorsChoose.org for a new set of classroom calculators; however, more money is needed. If you or your business would like to contribute, please go to: http://www.donorschoose.org/cdonnan. More information is on the website. If you do not have Internet access and would like to contribute, please call Carrie Jo Donnan at 217-476-6010.

Carrie Jo Donnan, math teacher at A-C Central Middle School, is utilizing a website called DonorsChoose.org to search for funding for calculators for her middle school math classroom. All 6th, 7th, and 8th graders are going to be asked to have their own TI-30XA calculator next year (approximately $10 at Wal-Mart), but the classroom still needs extras that the students can borrow when they forget their own or are unable to purchase on their own. This program allows public school teachers to post a need in their classroom and any individual or business that is willing to help may donate money to the cause. Any donation is accepted, even if it does not cover the full price of the request. The site is free for public school teachers and is an excellent venue for people to donate money to help out the educational needs that our schools are facing in this economy. Here is a link to the project: http://goo.gl/gYPiU. Any funding that could be made by individuals or businesses that are able would be greatly appreciated by the teacher and students.
