A-C Central School District was formed by the consolidation of the Ashland Community School District and the Chandlerville Community School District. Currently the junior high is in Chandlerville and the high school and elementary are in Ashland. The Unit Office is adjacent to the high school and elementary building in Ashland. The district has 470 students. Ashland is approximately 21 miles from Springfield. It is 20 miles from Jacksonville. Chandlerville is a town of 600 people and Ashland is a town of 1200 people.
