Veterans Day Ceremony is coming up!!
S.T.A.R. students visited the elementary school today to teach younger students about the dangers of drugs and alcohol. Working in small groups, they led fun and educational activities that included discussions on making healthy choices, a game of Simon Says, coloring, and even a lively charades game featuring healthy habits!
Last week Mrs. Lovekamp's Exploratory class created elephant toothpaste as part of their "Messy October" experiment series.

Today in intro to agriculture, students demonstrated their knowledge of the external parts of a beef cow by accurately drawing and labeling a cow diagram from memory.

HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH, from September 15 until October 15 each year,
is a celebration that recognizes the Mexican, Central American and South
American cultures in the United States. In many cities there are parades and
festivities that encourage the music, dancing, foods and costumes of Hispanic
immigrants.
During this month, students in Hispanic Cultures, 1 st year and 2 nd year Spanish
classes made “MOLAS” to focus foreign customs. MOLAS (fabric appliques of
colorful birds, animals and other natural items depicted on clothing) are a
symbol of the Hispanic world. Students made their MOLAS out of construction
paper that were put on the bulletin board for ours to enjoy.

Tomorrow is pajama day!!
Mrs. Lovekamp's 7th Grade Exploratory class dove into the world of slime this week as part of their "Messy October" experiments! Students had a blast creating three different types of slime, observing and comparing their textures, stretchiness, and overall ooze factor.
From gooey to bouncy to downright sticky, each slime had its own unique twist—and the classroom was filled with excitement (and a little bit of mess)!
This week, our talented 6th graders dove into the beautiful world of Chinese calligraphy in Ms. Johnston's Art class!

Our 8th grade Student of the Month for October is Lillian Kirchner. Lily, as everyone knows her, is the daughter of Kyson and Brittany Kirchner. Lily is described by her teachers as kind and respectful to her peers and adults alike. She is a hardworking student who is truly interested in learning. Lily is always positive and participates in a variety of extracurricular activities, including Student Council, Softball, Cheerleading, and Volleyball, and loves to share her experiences. We are proud to call Lily an A-C Central Knight!
